TAS 33rd Council Outing & Father's Day Celebration

19 June 2009

It was TAS 33rd council outing.
Sadly, many councils could not make it.
We met up at Plaza Singapura. Then, off we went to Pastamania.
After which, some of us went to catch a movie while the rest headed home etc.
It was a simple yet fun and heartwarming outing.

I took many photos but I am not going to upload them all as all the photos taken are uploaded in my Facebook.
I shall upload pictures that I am inside, in my blog.

As for Father's Day celebration, there were two celebrations.
One at a Chinese restaurant, another one we had Western cuisine.

Baking Session & Aliyyah's Birthday Celebration

Last Saturday, I went to one of my godmothers’ house to bake cookies and cakes.
It was a successful yet not so successful first attempt!

I am willing to learn to cook! So whoever is free, come and teach me. Thanks.

I remembered during my secondary school days, my first try to bake cookies was a disaster.
The oven was filled with smoke. Haha!

I know nothing about cooking. *Sigh*. Sometimes, I really wondered how I scored so well for my F&N when the dishes that I cooked are always black in colour and inedible.

33rd Councils did teach me before but hey, I have already forgotten.

So, knowing that I am such a failure in cooking, my godmother invited me to her house to learn basic baking skills with her two adorable daughters. The cookies and cakes are meant to bake for Aliyyah’s birthday celebration, later in the night.

Chocolate with M&M Cookies:

First and second attempt were all charred.

Third and fourth attempt were all charred at the bottom. The top is still soft and not baked yet.

Fifth attempt was a little charred but it was the only acceptable one (two hearts) to give to Aliyyah.

Sixth attempt were all charred at the bottom too. The top is still soft and not baked yet.

In conclusion, it cannot be considered a successful one. Am I right?

Let us move on to Chocolate with Strawberry Whip Cream and M&M.

We do one tray to make an experiment. It was considered a successful one because overall it looks like a cake. Haha.
However the colour, appearance and taste need a lot of improvement.

Our second experiment, we make some into a big tray and some into like cup cakes (without butter).
I think my cakes are passable?  Haha.

Overall, it looks like a cake at least. However, the appearance looks kind of dull. The taste needs a lot of improvement because it is quite salty at the side due to the butter.

Hence, it is a successful yet not so successful first attempt. Well, at least my effort was not so wasted because I managed to bring the cookies and cakes for Aliyyah.

Later an hour before midnight, I met up with Fahila, Fakhrul, Jason, Norman, Yi Jie, Hashanah, Telicia, Lester and Zaireel to celebrate Aliyyah’s birthday.  It was a pity that so many councils could not make it.

For You, My Long Lost Best Friend.

I am extremely happy that no words can described how I am feeling.

Ever since I graduated from my primary school, I lost contact with two extremely important friends. When I lost contact with them, I would think of them frequently and regret.
I searched for them frantically over the years through Friendster, friends, internet and hoping that one find day, I would be able to find them. (If you have been my attentive blog reader, you would have known).

Many times to my dismay , I failed to find the two precious.

A few days back, I decided to sign up for Facebook.
My main reason: to find the two precious people whom I lost contact after I graduated from my primary school.

Finally, I found one of them, my primary school best friend, Dorothy.
I know her since primary three. She is my first best friend and one of the people that make my childhood memories wonderful.
These are the only two photos I have taken solo with her. It was taken during her night year old birthday. I was invited only.

I would always go to her house. We often had role play. She would be ‘xiao yan zi’ and I would be ‘zi wei’. Till now, I still remembered how her house looks like. We would laugh at each other stupidity and read ‘Huan Zhu Ge Ge’ novel.

We joined modern dance together too as our primary school CCA. We intended to join ice skating during one of the December holidays but it was a pity that it never happened.

I still remembered the first time she came to my house and my mummy offered her a drink.
Also, when I went to her house, her mummy cooked French toast and Campbell soup for us. It was my first time trying those foods and till now, the taste of it still lingers. These foods remind me of her and her mum. Oh! I remembered how her mummy looks like till now.

She also taught me how to play piano too.

I kept everything she gave me. The two photos we took, the diary she gave me and the bible storybook for children.

Ah! All the good ole memories! I truly miss primary school days.

I am thankful for everything that has given me. After so many years of searching, I have found her. Now, I would not lost contact with her anymore. Patience is virtue , I finally understand.

However, there is still one more person whom I am still looking for. I will never give up finding.
I believed one fine day; I would be able to find you.

:)

I have been on hiatus. *Oops*.

-------

Last Saturday, I was supposed to go to rebel to celebrate Zai’s birthday in advance.
However, I could not make it. It was such a pity!
Anyway, happy birthday Zai!

-------

Last night, I chat with my primary school friend, Xian Jun.
All the good ole memories! Haha.
This year, it is our ten years of friendship and still counting down.

My neighbour is from Philippines.
They always cook lip smacking Philippines food for me to eat.

Life is an ebb and flow of constant changes.
Starting from the existence of a tiny seed
Blooming with hopeful life,
To the springing forth of a being so full of
future promise.

Who continually changes throughout the ever flowing paths of life's ups and downs!
Changing constantly in form and status
While experiencing awakenings, frustrations, sadness’s, and a gamut of feelings,
Related to disappointments, untimely occurrences, unwanted occurrences, and exciting
occurrences,
Often rarely prepared for the changes to come.

Dealing with the making of new adjustments,
While letting go of the familiarity and comfort of the past.
Knowing that what was so secure yesterday was just a fleeting moment in time.

As we go through life continuing to make adjustments related to life's happenings,
Seeking to find that inner peace and happiness,
trying to adjust to each step of life's
never ending changes.
